Emotions want to be felt
It can be easy to overlook emotions because they are inconvenient and often appear in ways we wish they wouldn't. Rather than showing up clearly, emotions may emerge as irritability, withdrawal, anxiety, conflict, or other behaviors that can be frustrating or difficult to understand. Yet emotions are not something to be ashamed of, judged, or pushed aside. They are valuable signals that offer insight into our experiences, needs, and relationships. When we approach our emotions with curiosity instead of criticism, we create space to better understand ourselves. Healing often begins not by getting rid of difficult emotions, but by listening to them, understanding their message, and responding with compassion.
